Long time no see, stranger.
1 10 2009Well, I’ve been missing in action a lot lately. It’s been a nice combination of swine flu, school, work and Heroes of Newerth. Kaleidoscope sadly DID NOT win any money from Dream Build Play but we did place 6th out of many and got shown off at PAX. The game is currently being reworked with a new engine (NO MORE LOADING TIMES!!!) and some level design changes. It’s currently dated October 20th for release and the soundtrack somewhere around that time, keep a look out!
I’m currently preparing for the entrance exam for the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and it’s a lot of work. Mats (my composing teacher) and I are currently working our way through the orchestra, writing small pieces for all instruments to get a feel for the limitations of them. My piece for four french horns turned out so well I’m turning it into a full-blown brass quartet. Hopefully it’ll be recorded by my dad’s quartet so I can use it when applying to the college. Re-writing it for four different kinds of trumpet (including bass trumpet and other obscure stuff) will be a challenge but hopefully well worth it. I’m also practicing Chopin’s Nocturne in F minor (Op. 55 no. 1) for the part of the entrance exam that requires me to actually perform music. Chopin’s a big meanie and made sure the first half of his Nocturnes were decently easy to play, then he goes on a wanking rampage. Worst case scenario, I’ll play some easy Philip Emanuel Bach instead…
Anyway, the point of this I guess is.. I’m still alive and well! There’s some new music in the “Services” section too so take a peak. Since I’m now the proud owner of Propellerhead’s Record I might get some more real instruments in there but that’ll be at a later date. That’s all, much love.
